The BMHS Film & Audio Story

Welcome to the home of BMHS Film & Audio. What began as a simple creative outlet has evolved into a thriving hub of news broadcasting, music production, and student-led media. Our journey is a testament to what happens when curiosity meets opportunity.

​

Our Humble Beginnings (2023)​:  The BMHS Film & Audio Club was founded in 2023 by science teacher Mr. Jose Ramos and a group of energetic instructional support students. Originally intended as a fun pastime and a way to provide educational enrichment, the mission was simple: capture the heartbeat of our school.​  Equipped with nothing more than their own cellphones, students document school news. They would bring their raw footage back to Mr. Ramos for editing, preparing short segments to present in-house. To the surprise of both teacher and the students, the school community didn't just watch—they embraced it. The overwhelming support for that first 2023 broadcast proved that BMHS was hungry for a voice.

Expansion into Sound:

As the visual side grew, so did the students' interest in the auditory arts. With the introduction of digital music production and live DJ sets, the group officially adopted the name "BMHS Film & Audio." This shift turned our club into a full-scale media collective, blending the power of the lens with the rhythm of the booth.

Milestones & Growth:

2024: A Space of Our Own – After outgrowing our initial meeting spot, which was a closet space, the club secured its first dedicated studio space through the Assistant Principal Mr. AJ Albano.

​

2025: Recognition & Support – Our efforts caught the attention of benevolent sponsors, Jam Studios, The Alumni Association, and Small Grant Group, whose generous grant funding has allowed us to upgrade our equipment and expand our production efforts. That same year, we established an incredible affiliation with Factory Underground, providing our students with professional-grade insights and industry-standard mentorship.

Looking Past the Horizon:

Today, we stand looking towards tomorrow with higher prospects, but we never forget our roots. We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported us from the very beginning—back when our "studio" was a mere closet space. You saw the potential for growth and inspiration in our students and founder Mr. Jose Ramos before anyone else did.

As we move forward, BMHS Film & Audio remains committed to pushing the boundaries of student filming & music production. We continue to look past the horizon, eager to see what the next generation of filmmakers and music producers will create.
